Philmont 2027 Trip

Crew 172 will return to Philmont in July 2027! 

11/1/25 - deadline to signup for Philmont 2027 Philmont 2027 waitlist signup form 

We have a full Crew of 3 adults and 9 youth.  If we have 3 more adults and 1 more youth we could have 2 crews.

• 1st Crew Reserved for 7/6/27 departure for a 12 day trek (14 day overall trip)

  • • 1st Crew is full, but if there is interest we can add a second Crew!  

• $200 non refundable deposit by 11/1 is required to hold spot

• Max 8 youth, 4 adults per crew.  Minimum 5 youth, 3 adults.

  • Must be 14 or 13 and in 9th grade by 7/1/27

Maine High Adventure 2026 Trip

Do you want to go on a quest?  How about a weeklong canoe paddle trip in the Maine North Woods?  We'll break up the drives with a stop in Boston on the way up and Acadia National Park on the way back

Our first Maine High Adventure 2026 Crew is full but you can sign up for the 2nd Crew here: MHA 2026 2nd Crew signup Youth must be 13 by 9/1/26

We currently have room for 2 adults and 5 scouts between the two Crews.

We have payed for one crew and tentatively reserved a second for a 7/13/26 arrival to MHA (by 10am).  If you know anyone interested, have them sign up here: https://my.scouting.org/VES/OnlineReg/1.0.0/?tu=UF-MB-777caa0172  The $100 deposit payment for waitlisted participants will not be due until we have registered the second Crew.

Trip prep calendar:

• 10/24-26 Pinchot State Forest Backpacking Trip

• 11/23 - Smith House, Canoe Merit Badge basics and other activities (hint: we will be carrying canoes)

• 2/7 - Crew Activity TBD

• 4/17-19 - Backpacking trip with Crew 172

• 5/15-17 - Overnight Canoe trip

• 6/19-21 - Overnight Canoe trip - We'll try to be home early on Father's Day (Or Dad's come join us!)

• 7/12-21 - MHA!

MHA Crew members that are 14+ or 9th grade+ are welcome to join our Crew meetings and other Crew activities as well.

Estimated payments (will adjust 2/15 and 4/15 payments after Crew selects options):

• $100 per participant deposit due by 10/1 (Please get this in if you have not already).

• $450 per participant due 12/1

• $450 per participant due 2/15 (may be adjusted based on selected options)

• $500 per participant due 4/15 (may be adjusted based on selected options)

Seabase 2025 Trip

16 members of Crew 172 hit the open seas on two 41ft sailboats for a week in the beautiful upper Florida Keys. Our scouts learned the basics of sailing and snorkeled 8 of the most beautiful reefs in the Keys and part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary.  We saw sea turtles, sharks, tons of reef fish.  Video coming soon!

Philmont 2024 Trip

Truly unforgettable 12 day, 85+ mile backpacking trek at the iconic Philmont Scout Ranch near Cimmaron, NM.  On top of the awesome views, our Crew went rock climbing, axe throwing, shot shotguns, practiced metalworking, learned about mining and ranching.  Trip video coming soon (We took too many pictures/video)
