Crew trips are selected, planned, and executed by the Crew members with adult advisors on the sidelines ensuring BSA YPT and policies are followed. Possible Crew trips include BSA High Adventure Bases (Philmont, Northern Tier, Summit, Seabase), canoe/kayak trips, rock climbing, shooting sports, even board game nights.
Youth who are 14 or 13 years old (and finished 8th grade) to 17 years old can co-register with Crew 172 at no additional cost. 18-20 year old participants must complete BSA YPT, PA volunteer clearances, and submit an adult participant application. Crew adult advisors are 21+ years old.

16 members of Crew 172 hit the open seas on two 41ft sailboats for a week in the beautiful upper Florida Keys. Our scouts learned the basics of sailing and snorkeled 8 of the most beautiful reefs in the Keys and part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. We saw sea turtles, sharks, tons of reef fish. Video coming soon!
Truly unforgettable 12 day, 85+ mile backpacking trek at the iconic Philmont Scout Ranch near Cimmaron, NM. On top of the awesome views, our Crew went rock climbing, axe throwing, shot shotguns, practiced metalworking, learned about mining and ranching. Trip video coming soon (We took too many pictures/video)
